The board members and NSA Staff

The Acting General Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Ing. Mohamed Benson Bawoh has informed the NSA’s Executive Director Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai that the Sierra Leone Male Premier will commence on November 23, 2024.
According to reports, Bawoh made this pronouncement on Monday, October 27, at the NSA’s Signal Hill office while officially presenting the Premier League Board to the NSA Boss and his team.
Benson noted that it’s a tradition for the Football Association to present board members of the male and female premier leagues to the NSA. “This board has already commenced administrative activities,” he said.
Receiving the Board members, Dr. Abdulai congratulated the team and encouraged them to allocate 80% of government funding to the clubs to assist them in paying salaries as football creates employment.
“Our league is getting to a professional level, and other nationals are now playing our premier leagues. With the Government’s continued support, our league will be more attractive to many other nationals across the continent,” Dr. Abdulai said.
He warned the newly appointed board to maintain the integrity of the game, noting that fixtures should not be altered or adjusted. He cautioned that decisions regarding protests and other related matters should not be delayed.
On media coverage, the NSA Chief encouraged the board to start conversations with television owners for live broadcasting.
Magistrate Mark Ngegba, Chairman of the Board, assured the NSA of integrity and transparency, stressing that the challenges of the league are not insurmountable.
