Thousands came out during the just celebrated World Aids Day in Lunsar Town to commemorate the day during which many hailed the activities of SHARE International. SHARE International, a non-profitable organization was established to sustainably improve the quality of life in rural communities through formal and informal education, health awareness and economic development.
The programme, which attracted many people from all walks of life, was the first in the history of Lunsar and was observed by candle light procession and prayers at the town football field.
Speaking during the programme, one of the stakeholders in chiefdom, Mr. Paul Santigie Sesay commended the role SHARE International has played in bringing together the community to celebrate such a day in Marampa Chiefdom, saying it was the first time to be celebrated in the history of Lunsar. He added that the community must welcome SHARE International and asked for prayers so that such opportunity will not go away by the wind like previous projects in Lunsar.
Representing the body of Christ, Rev. Father Emmanuel Sesay, Parish Priest of Lunsar, said Lunsar needs more prayers than ever before as, according to him, good things come to those who seek the face of God. He commended SHARE International for their role in education as it is the back bone of every nation. He thanked the founder of SHARE, Osman Kabia for such an initiative and prayed that SHARE will continue to do more especially in the area of education which the community needs most.
Mr. Osman Kabia expressed thanks to the community for coming out for the first time to celebrate World Aids Day in Lunsar and for their support in carrying out SHARE activities. He also thanked parents for given their children who took part in the first set of computers lessons.
