Fullah Progressive Union Delaware Valley Chapter has unveiled an ambitious plan to construct a Cultural Center aimed at preserving and promoting the rich traditions of the Fullah people and Sierra Leonean heritage in the Delaware Valley. This was closed over the weekend during their dinner and fundraising event at New Castle, Delaware, USA. The new facility, set to be located in the heart of Delaware, USA, will serve as a hub for cultural education, community gatherings, and historical exhibitions.

Algassimu Moorma Bah, Leaders of the Fullah Progressive Union, describe the initiative as a milestone in their efforts to strengthen cultural identity and provide a space where members and the wider community can engage in meaningful dialogue. “This Center will not only celebrate our heritage but also foster connections between generations,” said Momadu Juldeh Jalloh Secretary General of the organization.
The proposed Cultural Centre will feature a library with archives on Fullah history, classrooms for language and cultural studies, and a performance space for traditional music and dance. Plans also include resources for youth mentorship programs and events that promote intercultural understanding.
Community members have expressed strong support for the initiative, recognizing it as an opportunity to bridge the past with the future. Fundraising efforts and grant applications are already underway to bring the vision to life.
The Fullah Progressive Union anticipates breaking ground on the project within the next year, inviting collaboration from local leaders, educators, and cultural advocates. As momentum builds, the organization hopes the new Center will become a symbol of unity and progress for the Fullah community and beyond.
