Fambul Tok a Civil Society Organization which focuses on engaging communities on Peace and development has called on government and development partners for community involvement in post ebola recovery in Sierra Leone. John Caulker Executive Director of Fambul Tok made this call after regional dialogue talk with three main districts: Moyamba, Kailahun and Koinadugu.
According to John Caulker, this call was made by the various communities due to their experience on post war implementation across the country. This he said will avoid mistakes made during the post war. He further states that with help from Fambul Tok, theses districts have set up structures and come up mandates for peace and development in their respective districts.
He called on government and development partners to engage the community leaders, youth groups and Civil Societies in planning and implementing post ebola projects within their community. This he said will give the opportunity to various stakeholders and the community to map out project that will be beneficial to them.
John Caulker added that, the communities also called for the use of local contractors that will carry out infrastructural projects within their community this he said will minimize substandard job.
