Mohamed Amusa, the son of one of the coup plotters of the 26th November 2023 failed coup, is said to have fled Sierra Leone to neighboring Guinea where he is now in hiding from being prosecuted by the Sierra Leonean authorities.
The fugitive is wanted by the Sierra Leonean authorities because their investigations indicate that he might have some vital information pertaining to the failed coup. Reports say his home in the eastern city of Kenema was raided by members of the Sierra Leone Police who arrested him but he escaped from their hands while he was being transported to Freetown for further questioning.
Despite Mohamed Amusa being reported to be in neighboring Guinea, he will still not be safe in that country as Sierra Leone and Guinea have an Extradition Treaty.
It could be recalled that Alhaji Amusa, the father of Mohamed, was shot and killed by loyal security forces that foiled the coup on 26th November 2023
