Fambul tokIn their bid to raise awareness on peace and development, Fambul Tok has held Town Hall meeting for stakeholders in Mano Disse Chiefdom in the Moyamba District.
The meeting, which was held at the Local Court Barray attracted section chiefs, councillors, youth groups, non-governmental organizations and community people.
In her Welcome statement, PC Haja Koroma of Dasse Chiefdom thanked Fambul Tok for honouring her call in order to bring awareness to her chiefdom.  According to her, such talks are needed in her community to engage the people on their roles and responsibility in community development. She further stated that Fambul Tok has a stake in Dasse Chiefdom and called on all to fully embrace and cooperate with Fambul Tok activities in the chiefdom.
According to Fambul Tok District Coordinator, Lilian Morsay, the meeting was a response to a call from the Paramount Chief to map out ways and set up committees that will the overseeing the peace and development in their various communities within the chiefdom. She said Fambul Tok will conduct capacity building project that will focus on training the community representatives to carry out their functions on peace and development within the community. She added that Fambul Tok is non-political and non partisan and is open to work with all in the chiefdom and the district as a whole.
Patrick F. Kanmeh, Councillor of Ward 288, Moyamba District, said he is committed to work with Fambul Tok in carrying out their operation within his Ward and called on other politicians to do the same.
Mrs. Aminata Kargbo, Chief Administrator, Moyamba District Council thanked PC Haja Koroma for upholding peace in the chiefdom. She said development goes with peace. She added that the meeting was friendly and called on Fambul Tok to continue such engagement in other chiefdoms in the Moyamba district.
In their responses, various speakers from the community thanked Fambul Tok for their initiative and for their timely intervention in promoting peace in Mano Dasse.  The meeting ended with resolution that the community will identify people within the community that are respectable, non partisan and gender balance that will be overseeing the peace and development in the various communities.
